Different Types of Wedding Venues

January 13th, 2012 by Jessica Marie Sullivan | Filed in golf clubs

Finding your wedding venue is an exciting part of your wedding planning. With so many wedding venues to choose, there are so many possibilities. We know that finding the perfect venue can be stressful as well, so here is a list of some common and not so common venue options:

Hotels

The most common and practical choice for a wedding venue is a hotel. The biggest reason why couples go for hotels is because of their convenience. Hotels have their own caterer, so couples need not find a third party caterer. It’s not only more affordable, but also very, very convenient. Hotels also have staffs that are experienced. It’s safe to say that hotel staff can always be counted on when it comes to anything related to the wedding. Big wedding or not, it is crucial to pick a hotel that has an adequate parking lot for your guests. Also, hotels have their own bridal cars that you can use for your wedding day.

Golf Courses

A golf course can be a wonderful wedding venue for a small, intimate wedding. If you’re planning on inviting just a few of your friends and family, it would be nicer to hold the wedding outdoors. Of course, you will have to take the weather and the season into consideration. The rain is greatest enemy of outdoor weddings, so be sure to get married on a sunny day. The good thing about golf clubs is that it provides a lovely layout for your photos. With lots of greenery and beautiful nature, you will surely have a blast.

Museums or Art Galleries

This is a very unique choice for a wedding venue but is great for couples who want to have a modern chic wedding. A museum’s huge space and lovely artwork will definitely look amazing in the wedding pictures. However, not all museums allow weddings so it is necessary that couples should contact their chosen museum at least 5 months before their wedding date. This will give the couple enough time to choose another venue just in case the museum or art gallery does not allow weddings.

Restaurants or Pubs

This may not be a romantic place for some people, but it can still be a good choice for a wedding reception. This is perfect for a wedding with only a few guests. Restaurants or pubs tend to be the most affordable wedding venue option, as you only need to pay for the food and drink.

Professional Sports Venues

This venue is perfect for sports fanatics. You could choose from football stadiums, rugby, polo, or cricket clubs. This kind of venue has a great potential to have unique, stunning views.
